Well hello strangers, yea i did take some time off from posting blogs, actually a long time, but it was partly because i was upset and i forgot :/ . In football we ended up not having the season that i was hoping for, even though we made progress, we all wanted to go far real bad. The old cliche... theres always next year.
Now its basketball season, and im telling you now, its gonna be a tough one because we are so low on numbers and size. I mean 8 guys on a team, are u kidding me? We have 4 good players and 4 ok guys, so we'll see how far that gets us. I was disappointed with people who just sit and do nothing and then make fun of us because we are so small and not "good". But the 4 players, including me, we all have real good chemistry and good talent. We are 0-3 now, all against 3 good teams, so we are looking forward to getting on the right track and do the best we can.
Ill try a lil bit more on being more consistent with my posts

2 More Weeks
OK, i may have over reacted on that last post, bashing Coach Curtis more than i should. I had to delete it, just in case it was to get back to Curtis somehow.
But theres 2 more weeks, most of us on the team feel the same way about it, so there should be no fighting and junk like that. We want to make it fun, relaxing and memorable. hopefully we can have the first winning season in 20 something years for Ville. I think i may start this week, but its only Sunday night right now, hopefully I'll find out sooner than later. Always next year, and basketball is next

Our Fan Support is Awesome....Some Saying Playoffs
Homecoming weekend was great. We had hundreds of poeple come and watch Ville '08 womp on some Hancock kids. All we heard this week was how Hancocks QB is..but after the 1st quarter, that kid did not want to drop back and pass. Once again, we racked up over 400 yards of offense, and we had individuals like Todd and TYler go over 100 yards. I personally had 171 yards passing with 1 TD, but i also had my first rush TD. And this rushing Td was somethin special for me, but i give credit to my lineman for getting up to the second level and pening it up for me. I ran up the field, spun off a tackler, and i felt myself stumblin towards the endzone, so i dove into the endzone. It was great, i had guys all over, fans going wild. And i got this awesome picture of me in mid-air crossing the touchdown line. We won 41-21, all we wanted to do is make a statement and show what we're made of. Hancock is a bunch of sore losers, after the game they came off the bus and started to talk crap to our players and we almost got in a fight, but coaches came just in time. What else is there to say, we're 3-1 and have a full head of steam going into our league games. Our next opponent is Oxford, whos not very strong, so we're looking for another good game. In the words of WCDO: "Ville's next oppoent is Oxford, which should be another good game for them, looks like this is the team to look for. Somebody may be goin to playoffs....."

A Fresh Start Is Exactly What The Doctor Ordered
This week was hell, and i saw it all coming. First let me start with how i found a new respect for water boyt's, seeing that i was one for a week1 I was also the team slave, Ryan get this, carry this, hold this. I was referred too as Wa-wa-wa-ter-er-er-boy all week, mostly by the coaches. But it was also nice to see how practice looks from the outside, and it was fun to watch our backup QB Russ Anderson handle practice. He looked great last game, i honestly thought he would challenge me for my starting spot he did that well. He was the hero of that game, steppin up and makin plays.
But this week i get back, perfect timing for Homecoming, and I have this motivation to get back on the field. And i think thats what i needed, like a fresh start to get my mind right and focused. I feel good going into this practice, and once you start doing practices and the same drills everyday it can get boring and you lose focus. But since i missed a week, i feel like i need to catch up with the guys and keep my spot not only as QB, but as team leader. We're 2-1 and we're looking for a wining streak the next couple weeks. And i think the community knows this, because we get tremendous support from them. We easily had over 50 harpursville people up at UV to watch us on a Friday night. Wow. But we're gonna have more this week, and we do not want to let anyone down. Look for us, we're the Cinderalla team

Time To See What TheTeam is Made Of......
**Seein birdies flyin around** **Feeling like an anvil fell me on me** **Did i catch the license plate number ON THE TRUCK THAT JUST RAN OVER ME!** Yea, thats what was going through my mind after i got smoked in my last game in Watkins Glen. Maybe it was karma, because i had a real bad game and i deserved it? Nahhh, i dont think i did THAT bad......
I got a concussion that game, and I'm still a lil woozy and dazed. So i was forced, not voluntarily, to visit the doctors. By visiting the doctors I knew full well i would be held out for atleast a week....Yup! What do ya know! I'm out of action this week so i can recover, so that means Im going to miss Friday nights game at UV. I was originally bummed out becasue i havent missed a game, let alone a practice. But I'm going to take full advantage of it, and after 2 days of watching practice I have a different view of things. I like seeing how our practice runs and how it looks from the outside looking in, and it gives me a chance to hear what coaches say behind the players back. But I don't do that.... :)
Like i said, i had a bad game, partly because i let the stupid pressure get to me. And it was a high intensity, hard action, fast pace game. It was my first big game, and my nerves were up and my blood was pumping! But i'm glad that i have that big game under my belt. Hopefully it'll only take one of those, so i can relax and get back to normal....hopefully

Rockstar Status is Nice, But There's a Long Way To Go
Yes the articles in the paper, the clips on the TV, and the headlines are all nice...really nice. But i can't let myself get caught up with all that jazz, no matter how nice it is. I can't explain how nice this is too have my family members call and congratulate me. And going to school to have the teachers do the same, and younger football members keep telling me how good i did. "Hey Ryan remeber when you threw that touchdown???".... yea i've been getting that all week ha. But that's in my past now, and now i have this drive in me to put up the same stats every week. But stress comes along with that drive, pressure to put the same numbers or better every week. I'm trying hard to not let that get too me, im gonna saty humble about it. But sure enough after i throw another TD, im gonna be escatic for the team and myself. And all this attention brought to us is good, because most people have to take double look to see that they read the paper right. But thats only week 1, and we all know its gonna get tougher.
We had a real nice week of practiced, relaxed and confident. But still smash-mouth, because we all know we have a golden chance to do well. Watkins Glen is this week, well tmrw night, and there a better team but still beatable. And i also have a real nice oppurtunity to put up some good stats. Well that prety much sums it up. See ya in the papers!

School started...but thats isn't what is on my mind
ok. woo hoo, school starts. everyone looks good in their new clothes, their new shoes. Constant flash of the cameras becasue mom's all over are taking first day of school pictures. All that is over once the last bell rings, now its time to put on our smelly practice jerseys. Dirty pants. And cruddy spikes....It's practice time.
Nevermind the fact that Coach Curtis gives us 7 minutes to go from all fresh and clean to football pads, its game week! We practiced really hard this week, and it shows because we've done less conditioning! Our intensity has been thru the roof and we are really focused on our first game of the season against Livingston Manor. We have a golden opportunity to not only have a winning season, but make playoffs! Its suppose to rain, like massive, and a bunch of guys are all excited about it. But as a QB, im short of enthusiastic. Those other guys dont have to touch the ball every play! Ha they don't understand
We should win this game, but you gotta play every game like your opponent is the State Champs! Funny thing i said that, seeing that we actually play the state champs this year ha. But nonetheless, we are excited to hit the snot out of another team. Best advice this week: Whoever is in a different color jersey.. beat the living s*%t out of them! That should send a message, right?

This Year feels different....in a good way.
As we are wrapping up camp (pre-season practices) i found out a couple things that i didn't know before, and are a change for the good.
1) Coach Curtis is alot more calm this year, and i have a feeling it is because those 2 little girls he has at home. He's been very chill and understanding of our confusion and actually takes the time (very little of it) to explain things for you.
2) Our team is alot closer this year. We have been doing team bonding events such as going out for wings, cheering for the field hockey team, and even just hanging out before and after practice. The closer we get will help us in the future because when fit hits the shan (yes i know i spelled it wrong...) we are going to able to have our friendship to fall back on so we can get through the problem.
3) The final one....our offense and defense is STUD this year! Our running game compliments eachother with one tough runner, and one elusive runner. And our passing game, anchored by yours truly, will be able to move down the field, if our O line can protect, but we got some pretty beast guys on the front line. Our defensive schemes seem to have every gap filled with 1 or 2 hitters...Im gettin excited just talking about it! Our scrimmages at Odessa-Montour at 6 will be a real eye opener, to see where we're at. Going against class A and B schools will be a tough test for us, but if we can handle them, who knows......?

Somethin New Everyday
Yes, i havent been updating this blog because of technical difficulties....hard to believe when you got someone like my mom whos a whiz. But yes i have survived the first week of pre-season. To mine, and pretty much the whole team, practice has been less harsh.
Coach Curtis has a new way to run practices this week, and we aren't complaining. The way hes doing it is that we have something to do every minute so we can keep our minds fresh. He also cut all water breaks, it sounds harsh but its actually better. We get as many "breaks" as we want..like if your at the end of the line in the drill u get a swig. Too bad that swig tastes like soap (80% water, 15% gatorade,5% laundry detergent).
But too keep our minds fresh, he also gives us about 6 new plays a day. We practice them in our offensive period, then go over them the next day. I personnally like this new system and i like our team. My teammates haven't been gettin on my case about my shoulder, and i was afraid they were. But as a player and friend they respect me and know im a hard worker. We've had a few bumps and bruises, some serious ones. My top reciever Alex Tanner is out for awhile with a shoulder injury...that really kills me. Our O line is havin some trouble with the schemes, but im not worried (Red! Pull it together!) ,plus Daytons chicken scratch is barely legible..looks more like brail. But so far...surprisingly good. Did i mention i was captain? :)

Wanna hear why we're gonna have a good season??.....
Yes the expectations this year are high, actually real high. Word got out that Ville is going to have a real good season this year, and now everyone is asking around, wondering what and how were going to pull off a winning season. ell ill let ya in on a few things......
First of all we have a real athletic backfield and reciever core. Our defense is going to be stud, and our offensive line may lack in size but makes up for speed and heart. But the biggest thing in my eyes is, that we are carrying over an excellent and encuraging season from JV last year. Yes i know, JV is a whole different ball game compared to Varsity. But when you have confidence, its hard to take that away from someone. Thats what i think this years pre-season is going to be hell, but were going to pull together as a team and make the most of it. Everyone one of us knows the potential we have, and we're all excited to put it all out on the field.
Countdown till pre-season reaches 3 days today.. and i know im real excited to get back in the game. I have this nagging tendanitis in my throwing shoulder and, by order, I have to take it slow to rehab it back. Fustrating!
Missing practice due to this injury: annoying. Not being able to participate 100%: a pain. Having a winning season and proving all haters wrong: Priceless, because it's all worth it baby.

Did he mention field hockey?.....
Why did i create this blog you may sarcastically ask yourself?..... I want people to realize what its like thru the athletes eyes. How our practices went, how I felt the games went, and possibly some juicy locker room rumors. And also I would like to be a sports writer when I grow up, so why not start now and get my feet wet with this blog. Enough with the autobiography already, right?
A sports enthusiast, such as myself, should regonize the other upcoming sports in Ville. We pretty much have thee most badass field hockey team in the land. Where to start....Hmm maybe the constant training and off-season events that they do to better themselves. Maybe its the hell they have to go through in pre-season practices, courtesy to their coach. Or maybe we just breed pure athletes in Ville.....ok, maybeeee not that last one. Why is a football jock sticking up for the field hockey team?.....Bottom line: Our chicks with sticks you do not want to piss off.
O i'll end on a rumor that i am praying is not true....Todd and Vic to B-G???? comment on that one.
I appreciate that you read these outbursts of journalistic talent (thank you)...Ill update this every day.

Welcome To DalpMania
(Crowd roars) *Clap* *Clap* Yes i know, thank you...You are far too kind....Ofcourse I'll pose for a picture...You want me to do what?!?! The drumroll has ended. The stage lights are on. Welcome to the big show! How could i have people listen to my thoughts, respond to them, and get ideas off my chest? Why not his own blog? I know what your thinking, just another amateur who wants to express his thoughts and are hopeful people wont criticize him too bad. Wrong, Im a kid who wants people to hear our side of the story: the athletes. Ill start by welcoming a new season of Ville football. True we don't have the most known name in high school football, but we are planning to turn it around this year. I have confidence in my offensive coach, Coach Curtis, to send the right plays in and rack up the W's. Did i mention i was the starting QB? Yes ofcourse i want to pass every down, but we have a stud backfield that includes Boody and Terp (gotta be in Ville to get it) that i more than happy to hand the ball too. And i always got Speedy and Sneaky to dish it off too. Our schedule is not the toughest, but we have complete confidence that we can make it through. We have a couple of team bonding issues that need to be paved out, but thats all gonna happen on Monday, August 18th. First Day of pre-season! This does not mark the end of our summer, it marks the start of a brand new season. I appreicate all readers and i welcome any comments you want to say. Ville '08!
